The VeriPark system allows for a more relaxed parking experience, with users able to go about their business at leisure and make payment at their convenience. Unlike Pay & Display systems people do not have to estimate the required length of stay and then rush back before the paid time expires.
Car park owners and operators have the option of offering users multiple payment and validation options including: pre-booking, subscribed pay-as-you-go accounts and online payment, which can be made up to 24 hours after leaving the car park.
Using ANPR cameras, the vehicle registration acts as the payment reference, eliminating the need for traditional paper tickets. By utilising ANPR cameras barriers can also be eliminated, although where required can be easily incorporated. Traffic can flow unhindered without the need to stop at the barrier and take a ticket, and even barriers are incorporated traffic flow is still significantly improved, when compared with traditional barrier systems.
VeriPark is a modular system with cloud based management software, allowing for a high degree of future flexibility.
Town Centre Retail Chain
Planning conditions required this major retail chain to offer one hour free parking for all car park users, followed by a chargeable period of up to a three hour maximum.
Issues
Customers were put off by having to pay in advance at the Pay & Display machines in the car park, only to claim back in store while shopping. Managing the refund process itself was onerous for staff.
Applied Solution
VeriPark installed a barrier free solution, using high quality ANPR Cameras to monitor dwell times of vehicles in the car park, meaning interaction was no longer required by car park users staying less than one hour.
The installed Parking Payment Kiosk allows non-customers to pay for stays over one hour. A number of touch screen Validation Kiosks were installed to allow legitimated customers to enter their vehicle registration and scan a barcode (provided by checkout staff), allowing them up to three hours free parking, without having to make any upfront payment.
