The VeriPark system allows for a more relaxed parking experience, with users able to go about their business at leisure and make payment at their convenience. Unlike Pay & Display systems people do not have to estimate the required length of stay and then rush back before the paid time expires.
Car park owners and operators have the option of offering users multiple payment and validation options including: pre-booking, subscribed pay-as-you-go accounts and online payment, which can be made up to 24 hours after leaving the car park.
Using ANPR cameras, the vehicle registration acts as the payment reference, eliminating the need for traditional paper tickets. By utilising ANPR cameras barriers can also be eliminated, although where required can be easily incorporated. Traffic can flow unhindered without the need to stop at the barrier and take a ticket, and even barriers are incorporated traffic flow is still significantly improved, when compared with traditional barrier systems.
VeriPark is a modular system with cloud based management software, allowing for a high degree of future flexibility.
Hospital Car Parks (staff and public)
As with most hospital car parks, one of the main issues was insufficient space to meet demand. It was crucial to have reliable parking equipment, which could support efficient traffic handling. The need to reduce operational costs and maximise income were equally as important.
Issues
Hospital visitors were facing congestion and stress in the car park. They had to estimate the required length of stay, make payment and then return to their vehicle to display their ticket. The unnecessary stress and inconvenience often led to late or missed appointments.
Applied Solution
VeriPark installed an ANPR controlled ticketless barrier solution, using high quality ANPR Cameras to monitor vehicle activity in the car park and drive the opening and closing of the barriers, rather than a traditional paper ticket based barrier system.
Parking Payment Kiosks were located within the car park allowing visitors to pay for their parking at the end of their visit, using their registration as the reference, rather than a paper ticket.
The hospital reception now has a barcode voucher printer, allowing staff to issue free or discounted parking vouchers to certain visitors, e.g. disabled users showing a valid disabled badge.
Signage was also installed advising visitors on space availability within the car parks.
