1.0 General

1.1  ParkingPal Ltd, as the supplier of the Veri-park car park management software, takes the privacy of your information very seriously

1.2 This Privacy Policy statement covers the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information that may be collected by Parking Pal Ltd (Veri-park is the brand name of the car park management software supplied by Parking Pal Ltd a member of the APT Controls Group Ltd) when you visit our website or should you need to contact our support team.

1.3 Please take a moment to read the following to learn more about our information practices, including what type of information is gathered, how the information is used and for what purposes, to whom we disclose the information, and how we safeguard your personal information.

1.4 By using the Site and any services offered via the Site, you are agreeing to be bound by this policy in respect of the information collected about you via this Site.

2.0 How does the Veri-park system handle your personal information?

     2.1 Veri-park is a web based software system that our client's, generally the car park operator responsible for the car, use to manage their sites. So, in principle, unless you register for Flexipark or contact us directly for any reason, Parking Pal Ltd does not collect any personal information for its own use and will not solicit such information from you. If you contact us we will only collect information that pertains to your personal enquiry.

      2.2 Veri-park does not track your use of the Veri-park web site or its associated services, nor do we use your information for market research purposes without your express permission.

      2.3 You do not have to register any personal to pay for parking services offered sing the Veri-park car park management software by car park operators.

      2.4 If you do register then we only collect the minimum level of personal information needed to make sure you get the best service possible. This will include;

    • Information such as first and last name, your address required to register
    • Details of your chosen vehicles
    • Your email address and password so we can send receipts for payment or for letting you know if you have any permits or payment cards due to expiry etc.
    • Details of any purchases e.g. pre-paid parking sessions, season cards or permits, pay-as-you-go settings that are required to deliver the services offered. 

2.5 There is no requirement for you to register a credit, debit or any payment card to have an account or pay for services other than the Flexipark pay-as-you-go service.

2.6 If you choose to register a card to activate ‘Flexipark’ (pay-as-you-go parking) or auto permit renewal, then a secure ‘token’ is created that links your Veri-park account to the card details securely stored with our payment service provider. This information is encrypted and stored in such a way that no employee of Veri-park or a representative of the car park operator can access.

2.7 Parking Pal Ltd does not sell, distribute or lease any of your personal information to any third party nor will it use that personal information without your permission other than to keep you informed of key general changes i.e. to terms and conditions of use or changes to parking services.

2.8 At times we may be required by law or litigation to disclose information about your account on request by the relevant national security, or law enforcement agent.


3.0 What is your information used for?

 3.1  To make it easier for you to pay for parking and receive receipts or monthly statements

  3.2 To deliver parking services that you purchase i.e. permits or season cards

3.3 To let you know if there has been a problem with any automatic payment service has had a problem – and what to do to about it – and any important information about changes to a service or changes to your payment card information i.e. a card is about to expire.


4.0 How is your information shared?

 4.1 Credit, Debit or any other card i.e. loyalty  used to make a payment for parking will processed by a payment processor under a contract made directly between them and the local car park operator. Veri-park calculates the fee owed and requests confirmation from the payment processer. They will either return a message confirming the transaction has been or approved or that there was a problem.

 4.2 We do not store credit card numbers or CVV/CVV2 security numbers on our servers and Veri-park will never ask you to disclose this information. Only the car park operators’ payment processing service will ever need this information.

 4.3 If you activate Flexipark (pay-as-you-go), or select the automatic renewal option for permits or season cards we have the facility to make an attempt re-charge your chosen payment card at a later date for  parking transactions i.e. the payment processor’s system may be unavailable at the time the original payment request is made, so we try again as soon as possible.

 4.4  We may transfer your personal information to a third party as part of a sale of some or all of our business and assets to any third party or as part of any business restructuring or reorganisation, but we will take steps with the aim of ensuring that your privacy rights continue to be protected.

 4.5 For users domiciled in the UK, we may use third party suppliers to provide part of our service to you. In some circumstances these providers may be based in countries outside the European Economic Area whose laws provide for a different standard of protection for your personal information than that provided under UK Law. In such circumstances we will have in place strict contractual arrangements that will require your information is processed securely, at least to a standard equivalent to the UK Data Protection Act 1998.

 4.6 Other than as set out above, we will not disclose any of your personal information without your permission unless we are required by law to do so (for example, if required to do so by a court order or for the purposes of prevention of fraud or other crime).

 

 5.0 What about other sites?

5.1 We cannot be responsible for the privacy policies and practices of other sites even if you access them using links from our Site and recommend that you check the policy of each site you visit and contact its owner or operator if you have any concerns or questions

5.2 In addition, if you linked to this Site from a third party site, we cannot be responsible for the privacy policies and practices of the owners or operators of that third party site and recommend that you check the policy of that third party site and contact its owner or operator if you have any concerns or questions.

 

 6.0 Transferring your information outside the EU

6.1 As part of the services offered to you through the Site, the information you provide to us may be transferred to countries outside of the European Union (EU). By way of example, this may happen if any of our servers are  from time to time located in a country outside of the EU or one of our service providers is located in a country outside of the EU. We may also share information between group companies, which may be located in countries worldwide. These countries may not have similar data protection laws to the UK. If we transfer your information outside of the EU in this way, we will take steps with the aim of ensuring that your privacy rights continue to be protected as outlined in this privacy policy.

6.2 If you use the Site while you are outside the EU, your information may be transferred outside the EU in order to provide you with those services.

 

7.0 What have we done to protect your personal information?

      7.1 Parking Pal Ltd undertakes regular reviews of the data security policy and the precautions - including administrative, technical, and physical measures - it takes to safeguard your information against loss,  theft, and misuse, as well as unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.

      7.2 The Veri-park web services use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption on all web pages where personal information is required. To use the website, you must use an SSL-enabled browser. Doing so protects the confidentiality of your personal and credit card information while it's transmitted over the Internet.

      7.3 While Parking Pal Ltd will do everything it can to protect your information we do not take responsibility for the privacy practices of car park operators or other third party companies i.e. Mobile phone payment suppliers or loyalty card schemes etc

 

8.0 What you can do to help keep your account as secure as possible?

      8.1 You can help us by also taking precautions to protect your personal data when you are on the Internet. Change your passwords often using a combination of letters and numbers, and make sure you use a secure web browser.

          8.2 While Parking Pal Ltd has put into place a number of safeguards to help keep your personal information accurate, complete, and up to date for the purposes for which it is used. Naturally, you always have the right to access and correct the personal information you have provided. You can help us ensure that your contact information and preferences are accurate, complete, and up to date through your account log-in.

 

      9.0 How do I get in touch?

9.1 Before you contact us make sure that we are the right organisation to talk to In the first instance you should get in touch with the local car park operator or service provider i.e. mobile phone operator. The Car park operator’s contact details are available on the Veri-park website.

9.2 You may request details of personal information which we hold about you under the Data Protection Act 1998.
